Beginnings

When José and Kathlina moved from Puerto Rico to California, they brought a cherished family recipe for spiced rum that had been passed down for generations. They had always enjoyed sharing their rum with friends and neighbors, who always praised its smooth and rich flavor.

One day, José had the idea of infusing their rum with hemp and cannabis—two of the most popular plants in California. He researched and discovered that both hemp and cannabis had many health benefits, such as reducing inflammation, pain, anxiety, and stress. He also learned that these plants could add an herbal and earthy note, enhancing the taste and aroma of the rum.

José and Kathlina decided to experiment with different strains and ratios of hemp and cannabis until they found the perfect balance, creating a unique infused spirit. They named this product HempRico CASK 420 as a tribute to their heritage and new home. Then, they began selling their rum at local farmers’ markets and craft fairs, where it quickly gained a loyal customer base.
